Ageing well

We are all ageing from the day we are born. Life is made up of changes within ourselves, in our relationships and in the world around us. We have to constantly adapt to these changes.

We are now living longer than ever before and have greater time, health and finances to enjoy our retirements. However, later life presents its own particular challenges, including mental, physical and social losses. It can lead people to fear and dread getting older. Many try and do everything they can to avoid it and this can lead to anxiety, depression and poorer physical health. However, it does not have to be like this!

The document at the side called The Myths of Ageing looks at distinguishing fact from fiction, developing the right attitude and how to prepare for and adapt to changes in old age.
